Changes to the London congestion charge that will come into effect
on 4 January 2011 are good news for Ibiza and Leon Ecomotive owners.
In January, the current Alternative Fuel Discount (AFD) will be
replaced by a Greener Vehicle Discount (GVD).
This means that all vehicles that emit 100g/km of CO2 or less and
meet EU5 emissions standards will be exempt from the £10 congestion
charge.
Owners of Ibiza 1.4 TDI Ecomotives and Leon 1.6 TDI Ecomotives
therefore won't have to pay to drive in the congestion-charge
zone.
All-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are also exempt from the
congestion charge, but hybrid vehicles that were registered before
24 December 2010 and emit more than 100g/km of CO2, such as the
Honda CR-Z (which produces 117g/km of CO2), Honda Insight
(101g/km), Lexus LS600h (219g/km) and Lexus RX450h (148g/km), will
only be exempt until December 2012.
